Warm, summer weather is just around the corner, meaning it's
the perfect season to get outdoors and enjoy the area's best outdoor events and
festivals. Here are some of our favorite outdoor events to check out this
season near our communities in Dallas, Villa Rica, Hapeville, Cumming, Calhoun
and Gainesville.
Dallas
Beginning May 17, head down to Main Street for Food Truck Fridays, a
summer tradition in Dallas! Every Friday from 6 to 10 p.m., rain or shine, attendees
enjoy 15+ food trucks options to accommodate a variety of cravings and live
music.
Rock music fans will want to check out The GlowBand
Experience at the Dallas Theater this month. On May 18, from 7 to 9 p.m.,
experience a tour of legendary Eagles' music from the late 70s through the 90s.

Villa Rica
The annual Community Market is back on Mondays from 4 to 7
p.m. at The Mill Amphitheater! Located at 106 Temple Street in downtown Villa
Rica, this local market is the perfect place to find fresh produce, local
honey, delicious meat and more! The market happens every Monday from May

Hapeville
La Fiesta en
Hapeville is your summer festival stop! Held this year on Saturday, May 18,
this festival includes many family-friendly activities to try like human-size
foosball, a mechanical bull, face painting, food trucks and live music. Admission
and parking are FREE!
Held every second Saturday of the month now through
September, the local Coffee
& Chrome car show is a great way to immerse yourself in the Hapeville
community. Stop by Jess Lucas Park June 8 between 8:30 a.m. and noon to drink
your morning coffee and view some classic cars.
Cumming
Big fan of live music? The Prince
tribute band, Purple
Madness is coming to Cumming on Friday, May 31 from 7 to 9 p.m. Admission
and parking are free for this concert at Lou Sobh Amphitheater. The venue is
pet-friendly, wheelchair accessible and includes a restaurant onsite.
In honor of local military families, the City of Cumming is
hosting its annual Memorial
Day Ceremony on Friday, May 24 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Lou Sobh Amphitheater.
Bring the whole family (and a few chairs) to this ceremony and join in on a
local tradition.
Calhoun
For history buffs, the Battle
of Resaca Civil War Reenactment is a real treat! Put on by the Georgia
Division Reenactors Association, this event is held May 17 through 19 on the
historic Chitwood Farm. Whether you stay all weekend or stop in for the day,
experience one of Gordon County's most anticipated events!
Bring the whole family for a full day of fun at the annual Wings
and Wheels Fly-in and Car Show at Tom B. David Airport. Mohawk Industries
is hosting again this year, offering dozens of static displays, food, presentations
and more on Saturday, May 25. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with
activities happening all day.
Gainesville
Every Wednesday this month, join the community in downtown Gainesville
for the Blue
Sky Concert series. Each week features a local music performance from 11:30 a.m. to
1:30 p.m. in the downtown square. So, bring your lunch and a chair to enjoy
midday entertainment like no other.
The Midland Music Festival is set for Saturday, May 25 this
year at the Smithgall Art Center, offering local brews, live music and a
variety of food trucks. This year's headliners include rock tribute bands SkynFolks,
StreetChoir and GoodFolk. Tickets start at $30 for general admission. This
festival will begin at 5 p.m. and continue into the evening, rain or shine. Guests
are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and/or picnic blankets. For more
